Who is the asshole: me? my boss?

Is this fair that as staff members we are forced to work with an intern because his dad knows my boss? I would never feel comfortable handing someone over to the people that work for me knowing that this person is quite low functioning. I'm trying to be a good employee. I have not been rude about it, but I want to make sure to set a boundary so this does not happen again. The intern alluded to possibly coming back to work. I do not have the time to babysit him during far more busy times of the year. I hum at a pretty high frequency and don't have the kind of time it would require to manage him. Let me know your thoughts. Am I an asshole? or is my boss the asshole here?

My supervisor is friend's of a family of student that is currently enrolled in an academic program that would prepare him for a job in the field that we work in. My supervisor brought it to the attention of the staff that she would have the intern come to work with the staff during the summer. The intern started today and will be with us until Aug 4. He is not the crispiest chip in the bag. Only 3 of the 7 staff members have been burdened with the intern, my supervisor is not one of them. I don't remember giving consent to allow the intern to work for me; it was more like tacit consent. How do you say no to your boss? I have come up with one project for him to do that is really, really easy and he had trouble with that project. How am I going to come up with another one?

What do I do? Am I an asshole? or is the boss?
