Is the company High Beam Research reputable? (more inside)

I'm in a crunch as far as time goes and need a certain article from Risk Management from 1994 tonight. I can't find the article anywhere on Lexis but turned up a hit with High Beam Research. Before I give them my credit card information for a free trial, I wanted to know if they were reputable.

Their website: https://www.highbeam.com

Thanks in advance.

Your credit card issuer should protect you in cases of failure to deliver service or fraud. You're at more risk from giving your credit card to a waiter at a local restaurant. If there aren't any obvious red flags, why bother?

They have been spamming me on a weekly basis since around 2001, so the name Highbeam Research has kinda negative connotations for me. That's as far as my experience reaches.

Mail me the article details if you want and I'll see if I can dig it up on our uni systems. Email's in the profile.

Highbeam is indeed a reliable company, despite the spamming. They do plenty of legitimate business with long-established non-Net companies and have a good profile in the information-providing business. I do not work for them nor know anyone who does.

With these free trial deals that require a credit card you can quite often get away with using test card information. Google around a bit and you can find lists for Visa, Mastercard etc.

Beware they might get a bit narky when your free period runs out and they try to charge the card!
