Looking for a new job in the DFW area. Anyone know of headhunters or good technical recruiters in Dallas?

Throw your resume up on linked in and you should get them crawling over you like flies.

Unless you are C-level, there's very little point in hitching your wagon to recruiters, who are 90% third-party (they search the same job listings you do and then read them to you in hopes of getting a cut for placing you - always always always search for yourself before agreeing to that). Most companies don't want to hire through recruiters, and you'll get more money if you don't.

I believe both DMN and Startlegram use CareerBuilder for their job listings, put your resume there and Dice, set up searches there and on Indeed. Pound your own pavement, it'll pay off in the end.

The one hedge - maybe - is if your expertise is in accounting/finance systems. Accounttemps has a little bit of an edge there, but it's slight.

Want a recruiter? Post a resume on Dice and enjoy the never-ending swarm. I accidentally posted the version that has my cell phone number on it and will regret it forever.

It depends what you mean by recruiters - are you looking for a permanent position or a contractor position? For perm: use the suggestions above to look for yourself as much as possible before submitting to a headhunter. For contractor: most of the places that I have worked lately have required their contractors to go through a contracting company and there is a list of preferred companies that they work with. It's hard to get a position if you say that you are your own self-employed contractor because your "company" is not on the preferred list.

Let me know if you want some contacts of contracting companies that folks I know are using, and let us know what kind of technical positions you're talking about - my contacts might not be valid for the positions you're looking at.
