I want more detailed maps on my iPad

I love the iPad maps app, but it's light on detail. Is there a way to toggle things on like town boundaries and other political/cultural data? Or is there another app that does that?
Response by poster: I'm updated as far as I know. Google Earth offers some granularity, but not with what I want. I can't find a Google Maps app.

Google Maps is coming to iPad this summer, apparently. Until then you have the option of using the iPhone version, blown up to double-size?

Here's the Google Maps app.
You could also go to maps.google.com in Safari, then Add to Home Screen.
What you're asking for goes into the realm of GIS, you can search the App Store for that term and see if any of those apps suit your needs.

Get the ArcGIS app and sign up for a free ArcGIS Online account. Lots of base maps and data layers to choose from.

ArcGIS is exactly what you want, but it was super-crashy on the iPhone. I believe it's free, so you might as well check it out.

buttercup: "Get the ArcGIS app and sign up for a free ArcGIS Online account."
nth-ing ArcGIS.
However I don't think there's a direct free account for ArcGIS online (anymore?), only a 30 day free trial.
I had to instead get a free ESRI Global account first which I could then register with ArcGIS Online here (click on the "Register Your Esri Global Account" button). Having done that I can log into my ArcGIS app using the ESRI account.
