Sushi in NH

Who serves good sushi in the Manchester/Nashua/ Salem NH area? My regular places are serving more and more mystery fish (chefs choice?) I need places where I know what I am being served.

Just as a data point, I live in this area and pretty much only make my own sushi. But I probably wouldn't be willing to pay the requisite price for good-quality restaurant sushi.

You You in Nashua, Masa and Thousand Crane in Manchester all get good reviews from my sushi friends.

Particularly the You You.

Can you explain this? Are you saying that you can no longer ask for a tuna or salmon nigiri, that chef's choice is the only possibility? And that the chefs will refuse to tell you what fish you are eating?

Omakase/chef's choice is becoming increasingly popular but I've never heard of a place where the restaurant staff won't tell you what it is.

oooh, i can answer this one =c)

Last year on our "baby-moon" we stayed in Nashua. I found this place on yelp (my revie is under the name "Yuriy S.") and it turned out to be awesome. Delicious food, good service and reasonable prices.

Where do you regularly go? My general impression is that Thousand Crane has gotten worse over the past couple of years. My family generally goes to Taipei and Tokyo, in Bedford.

Yeah, I've eaten at Thousand Crane a couple of times during the past few years and it seemed average at best.

Chen's Garden has excellent sushi. Heads and shoulders above Taipei and Tokyo. The online menu is deceptive - makes them look like a Chinese restaurant that does sushi on the side when they in fact put a great deal of attention on the sushi side of the business.
