How do i get my podcasts to sync?

I just got a new ipod(classic) today, all the music synced fine and most of my podcasts too. However, i have 18 that won't sync and it keeps saying it can't find them even though they're all right there on itunes as i just downloaded them. I made sure everything was up to date, and even restarted itunes but still nothing. If it matters i'm using a mac(2007/08?), with itunes 11.0.3, snow leopard. Is there anyway i can get them to sync?

I'm assuming that when you click the songs in iTunes, they start playing, right? If that's the case, here's what I would do: locate the actual files on your hard-drive, and copy them somewhere else. Then delete the songs from your iTunes library and hard drive, and then add them back from wherever you copied them. Then try syncing again.

Make sure to copy them somewhere else before you delete them from your library, so that you don't delete them forever.

Oh, wait, sorry, didn't see that your question was about podcasts, not music. In that case, I'd suggest unsubscribing from the troublesome podcasts, sync again, then resubscribe to the podcasts, and then syncing again.

Do you have it set to sync all episodes for your podcasts? I think there are settings for things like 'unplayed only' or 'most recent only' etc and those can make it so only some of the episodes for each podcast get synced. Also make sure that all the podcasts are syncing, it's possible to choose only some of them to go across and your missing ones might not be on that list. There should be a setting for 'sync all podcasts' or similar which would get them all.

Basically, there are a bunch of extra podcast sync settings buried in the podcast tab which can cause only some things to go onto the iPod. I'm betting this is your problem so go around and check every setting everywhere until you get it working (not very scientific or specific I know, but iTunes moves this crap around a lot so just look everywhere).

Oh and what I mean by the podcast tab: plug in the iPod so it shows up in iTunes. When you click on the name of the iPod you should get a page with labels across the top for different types of media (summary, music, movies, etc). Click on podcasts and make sure it is set to sync all episodes of all podcasts. Going to the section that shows the list of podcast episodes itself doesn't have those sync settings for some reason, you have to find that specific page for that.

Response by poster: @shelleycat I already have it set to sync all podcasts, and i even went through to make sure they all had a checkmark next to them but still nothing. I'll try unsubscribing and then redownload and see if that works though.
