Sunflowers bunches for sale in central Connecticut?

Hi CT mefites. I'm looking for help locating sunflowers in grocery/box stores between Windsor Locks and Storrs before I travel there next week.

On Saturday I'm flying into Bradley and heading towards UConn and wanted to bring some sunflowers for my party host. I saw buckets full of them today at my Trader Joe's in the midwest, but the closest TJs to my hotel is decidedly out of the way and I am looking for alternatives. I've got some time constraints to coordinate with the flower pickup, so before I call a florist and special order, I wanted to use the hive to locate stores off 84 that might have them stocked in a grocery floral section.

Welcome! This is my neck of the woods.

There are a couple of stores off of 84 in Manchester and Vernon. A local chain, Big Y, is a full-size supermarket and is right off the highway (D in the list in that link) in Manchester. I'd start there.

There's also the Buckland Hills Mall and the Shoppes at Buckland Hills beside it, which is a giant stack of big box-type stores in Manchester, right off of 84, although no Trader Joe's.

Practically right around the corner from the Big Y gauche mentions, is a Stop and Shop on Pitkin Road in Vernon. Super easy on/off 84, and I know I've seen nice sunflowers at other area S&S's recently.

Here's a listing of supermarkets in CT. You're going to want to call the ones you're interested in to verify they will have sunflowers in stock on your arrival day. Personally, I'd just special order from a florist close to your destination - less hassle, more surety.

I just saw a ton of them today in Stop & Shop. I'm on the Shoreline but I'm sure they'd have basically the same flowers up there. And I think any Big Y or ShopRite would have them too.

(I wouldn't try to navigate the area around Buckland Hills Mall if you've never been there before, I've seen it make people lose their will to live;)
