Does glyphosate herbicide (Roundup ®) kill dormant bulbs, like freesias? posted by wilful to home & garden (4 comments total)
No, not if they're under the soil with no leaves poking up.
On the other hand, if there ARE leaves, glyphosate is particularly good at killing them. posted by Jimbob at 7:59 PM on September 14, 2005
Roundup works by applying it to foliage. No foliage, no kill. posted by Danf at 11:33 AM on September 15, 2005
My boyfriend works answering questions exactly like this for Round-Up. Send them an email next time. posted by Juliet Banana at 7:04 AM on September 16, 2005
Dig em up, maybe? Freesias aren't exactly invasive. What's left gets pulled up in your first few weedings of the next season.
