Question: Crock pot glue

Does ovensafe ceramic glue exist? I broke the lid to a nice ceramic crock pot and I'm hoping I haven't rendered it useless. Is there any sort of glue that can be used to mend the lid that won't turn my cooking into toxic waste, and also won't melt in the oven?

Or epoxy, actually. Epoxy is probably safer, but more difficult to use to glue it, because it bonds pretty much instantly, thus giving you little time to make sure the pieces line up perfectly.

My dad enthusiastically uses epoxy for everything, including cracked baking dishes. Some of his repairs have held up for decades.

Epoxy does not necessarily bond instantly. There are dozens if not hundreds of types, of varying strengths, curing times, and suitabilities. Home depot will have 5-10 minute epoxy which should be fine for your purposes. You may need to do a little research to make sure whatever you get will stand up to high heat. I would think epoxy would fit the bill.
