seeking practical guide on domestic terrorism

I need help finding a book that I read about 15 years ago. I think I checked it out of the Illinois State Univerity library. It may have also been found in boing boing or some other ezine. I don't know the author or the title. It was possibly a farcical or possibly a practical guide to domestic terrorism. It listed the practicalities of hitting domestic targets and what havoc it would wreak.

Coup d'Etat by Edward Luttwak?

Response by poster: too large scale and organized. This was more a book of what an individual could do, or a small team. Like the practicalities and impact of poisoning the water supply or taking out a power repeater or small power station.

If you find it, I wouldn't check it out of a library again! Good luck.

Steal this Book?

Response by poster: more theoretical than the 'anarchist's cookbook'
less political than 'steal this book'

Best answer: You've already tried the Illinois State University library catalog, right?

(Also, the Earth First! Ecodefense books come to mind, but there definitely isn't anything about poisoning the water supply in there.)

There's all sorts of stuff on this topic, really.

David's Tool Kit: A Citizen's Guide to Taking Out Big Brother's Heavy Weapons

Total Resistance

Special Forces Guerrilla Warfare Manual (yes, straight from the Pentagon)

On Guerrilla Warfare by Mao Zedong (one of those funny sixties names, I think)

War of the Flea: Classic Study of Guerrilla Warfare

Cruise those, then visit the Page You Made, I bet you'll find it.

I know you said "book" but this sounds like almost an exact match for an article in OMNI, circa 1986-1989, written by G. Gordon Liddy, of all people.

He was a bit ahead of his time in imagining a large scale terrorist attack on the USA and described some very easy methods for accomplishing havoc.

The part of the article which really stuck with me was the passage on how to devastate the power grid of the east coast using only an RPG or molotov cocktails. But there were other practical bits of havoc he described in great detail.

Perhaps he was quoting from a book. If you can locate this article, you might have a good lead on the book.

Response by poster: thanks for all the responses.

box - I didn't bother to check the online catalog at the university. Ends up I think I found it there. Author - Victor Santoro, several different books, publisher Loompanics. I think the book was called "disruptive terrorism". Now I just have to find the book.
