Who are the best optometrists in Vancouver?

I'm looking to move from glasses to contacts, if that adds any information. I'd prefer stuff that was closer to downtown or the West Side, as well.

I can't remember the exact name of the Optometrist I go to, but it's on West Broadway and Willow/Laurel-ish. There's a 99 B line stop heading Eastbound (so South side of Broadway) right in front of the store. There's a woman's clothing shop to the immediate East and a Quiznos very close on the West side. I think it's across the street from the Casino.

They appear to provide services to a large number of former and current Vancouver Canucks. The pricing is reasonable and they have a decent selection of frames for glasses, and they stock my brand of contacts and can order other brands quite quickly.

Most importantly, they have several Medical Doctor - level optometrists (opthamologists?) that rotate there. Very professional. They offer full eye exams and the doctors are very nice and seem to actually care about your health above-and-beyond that limited to vision.

Answering your more general question of "Who are the best optometrists in Vancouver?" (as my recommendation is out of your area and I've never been fitted for contacts):

I can't recommend Dr. Stephanie Brooks at Pacific Eye Doctors - Dunbar enough. Very professional, personable and thorough.

I hate doing medical stuff -- yes, even having my eyes checked -- but she's always made me feel comfortable and has done a great job and taken the time to patiently and thoroughly answer any questions I have about the tests, results or my eyecare options.
