Honey, You Look Cold

I'm years late to the party but I have just started playing Dragon Age: Origins. I am having a problem with Morrigan.

She's too damn naked. I've been playing video games a long time and have encountered quite a lot of stupid gratuitous T&A. However, Morrigan's costume is SO stupid and SO gratuitous that it's actually distracting. I'm all into the story and the dialog and then Morrigan appears and I'm cringing. I'm sure that I will find better armor for her at some point. I would like to be able to get to that point without having my enjoyment of the story ruined.

My question: Is there a mod for Dragon Age:Origins that will change Morrigan's default costume to something more modest?

While a larger conversation about the sad state of female characters in video games would be interesting, it's not specifically relevant to my question. :) Thanks!

You can get decent armor for her pretty quickly that covers her up. I don't know about changing her default look, though.

It's been a bit since I last played Dragon Age, and I played in on the 360, so I cannot vouch for any of the mods found on this site: Dragon Age Nexus. But there might be something in there that can help.

Go to the circle of mages first, you'll not only get robes to cover her up, you'll get a replacement mage.

The odds of finding a mod that puts more clothes on an NPC seems slim.

You can just put other armor on her. It's only her main outfit and the other outfit that imitates its look that is super revealing. The armorer at the Circle of Magi should have some robes for sale. You'll have to raise her strength in order to put her in anything other than robes, which might make her a bit less efficient in combat, if you're optimizing for that. Light armor is pretty stupid revealing (PLEASE STAB ME IN THE NECK AND/OR CHEST, EVERYBODY); I always raised my rouge and mage PCs to get pretty high strength just to get them in the less-stupid (okay, and way cooler looking) medium weight armor.

There's also, of course, tons of clothing mods (assuming you're on PC) but you're probably better off just buying robes from vendors or taking them off dead enemy mages.

As others have noted, you can just replace her default robe with something else. However, if you want to keep something that looks kind of visually similar without quite as much skin, this mod looks not too bad. Still has ridiculous cleavage, but it's a lot closer to an actual garment as opposed to a bra and scarf~ Haven't used it myself, YMMV, yadda yadda.

Nthing do the Circle of Mages quest. Alternately, you can buy some decent (but expensive) robes at the Wonders of Thedas shop in Denerim.
