Does a Simmone Phenom Comforpedic need a mattress cover to protect against dust mites?

My girlfriend went ahead and bought a Simmons Phenom Comforpedic mattress and believes that it's just like the Tempur-Pedic brand in that it's protected against dust mites. She has a dust mite allergy that can get pretty bad so this was a big selling point. Does anyone own one of these and can confirm it? There doesn't seem to be a ton of information online and the sales person did say it didn't need a mattress cover. I just want to be sure so any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you!

I use a dust mite cover on my memory foam mattress anyway because the one I have is spill proof and I want protection against messes. My husband loves drinking tea in bed but sometimes falls asleep with the mug of tea on his chest. :)

I have dust allergies (not too severe) and used a dust-mite cover when I had a conventional mattress. When I switched to memory foam mattresses I quit using the special covers, and haven't noticed any problems. I don't know about that brand in particular, but I presume all memory foam mattresses are the same as far as dust mites go.

Response by poster: Great, thank you both for the help! I think we'l go without the cover for now since we don't typically drink anything in bed and aren't worried about spills. Thanks again!
