jvc cam help

jvc video camera question......

hi there i'm trying to get my mates pc to detect the jvc digital video camera model no gr-dvl160ek and he is using windows xp its a usb connector cable but windows keeps saying "usb device not recognised" we have searched everywhere but can find nothing .....short of throwing the whole thing out of the window and blaming the cat , can anyone help ?

According the manual, that model doesn't support USB, only serial connections. However, if the cable you're using came with the camera, ignore me.

Do you have the driver CD that came with the camera?

Sorry I have not responded to this quicker - I've only just got broadband.
I do have the driver CD which came with the camera and would appreciate any help you can give me
