What should I use to darken the white grout on my Turkish mosaic lamp?
I have a Turkish mosaic lamp. It looks gorgeous when it's on, but I don't like the look of the bright white grout when it's off. I want to dye it black or grey. What kind of stain or dye should I use? I want something that gives an even colour and won't emit a strong chemical smell when heated by the bulb inside.

If the grout is not sealed (the way you would seal grout in a bath) a dye should penetrate adequately. My fear would be that any liquid applied to the grout might weaken it, possibly leading to collapse in the future.

Doubtful, unless the liquid were highly acidic. Cured grout doesn't dissolve in water or solvents.
