Question: Looking for interesting, unusual e-cards

E-cards. You can't google for 'em any more, because there seem to be a million knockoffs and imitators.

I'm looking for an intelligent e-cards site, maybe a bit off the beaten path but still reputable and trustworthy. Cards ranging from serious to naughty to profound to goofy. Some animated, some not (though if they're all animated, that would be fine). I don't mind paying for them, but not an exorbitant amount. Blue Mountain isn't what I'm looking for.

I like the cards from the MoMA. I thought the Met had them too, but I can't seem to find the page.

Andreas Lindkvist's postcards are stylish and charming, I don't send e-cards very often these days but when I do I always use his. I've been using them since at least 96 or 97!

Those might be too goofy or cheap-looking; these are not technically e-cards, but quite cool, and the artist allows hotlinking; this site was recently posted to MeFi; and if all else fails, you could make your own card from any picture on Flickr.

Greetings. I run HipsterCards.com and want to offer it as an alternative to the cheesy ecard sites online. All the cards are free to send and we add new cards weekly. We have pulp fiction designs, scary clowns, slightly off-kilter birthday and congrats cards and about 1000 others.

Hope you enjoy

Lynda,

I just used one of your hipstercards for something. Funny cards. I hope you're serious about the privacy of the information collected (I don't mind looking at ads, but I don't want to be swamped with offers).

Anyway, I'd only suggest adding line breaks to your message box (everything in a note gets lumped into 1 paragraph).

Hi, and yes about the privacy policy. We are very, very concerned about spam and the collection of info and will never sell, rent or distribute information that our visitors provide.

As for the line breaks I really appreciate the feedback and will forward to my tech guy to implement.

Thanks and glad you like the cards.

There's also Delivr.net, which lets you turn any CC-licensed Flickr image into an e-card.
