NFL Touchdown Alerts

With the NFL season about to start, I'd like a way to receive an e-mail alert everytime a team scores a touchdown or field goal. I'm sure there are pay services that do this for hardcore fantasy football players and gamblers, but I'm wondering if there's a free service or a way to hack an existing e-mail alert system to make this work.

I can only think of Yahoo! Mobile (which is not email, sorry). You'd have to manually set an alert for each team you want to track to update every time the score changes.

I'm sure there's a more elegant situation out there somewhere.

How about this? You can add frequent updates for every team pretty easily.

Scorerunner is a service like you describe and even has a free trial period. Covers the first week of the season, I think.

If you're on Verizon for cell service, you can just set an alert on their vtext.com service for free. That only works for getting a message for your cell phone though.
