Looking to put these characters in my kitchen. Do they actually translate as "Food is Heaven"? Also, which type of written characters are they, traditional or simplified? Any info would be great. Thank you for your help.

Best answer: They're traditional. 民以食爲天 Mín yǐ shí wéi tiān. They translate as "The people take food as heaven", or "Through food, the people achieve heaven".
