Help with GoAnimate?

My daughter loves to make cartoons on GoAnimate.com. But it is an incredibly cranky site on Chrome on her Mac, often freezing, and always incredibly slow. Is it just a slow site? Would it be better on a different browser? Is there anything I can do to speed it up? Are the student or professional versions faster? Is there a better site to make animations on? (She's 8.)

The site seems to run fine on Firefox on my Mac.

I've had problems using Chrome on my Mac (not just on that site).

I would have her use Firefox. I've had entire classes run GoAnimate with Firefox on 10.6 with little issue. The only catch is GoAnimate can be slow under WiFi, but that's been with 15+ users online at once.
