Tactile 3D?

Are there examples besides aTilt of apps that render a 3d box apparently below the screen surface, adjusting its geometry according to the handset location relative to the eye?

And is there maybe a word that describes this effect?

Best answer: iOS has diorama from 2009 (also does a full red/cyan 3D mode)

Response by poster: Holograms - that's the word. It seems like by estimating head location and monitoring phone orientation, a 2D display could be used to present the same view as seen when walking around or manipulating these holograms.

Response by poster: Oh, I found an example of exactly thing I was thinking of: 3D Eyetracking UI.

Another one for iOS is HoloToy.
