Canon PowerShot G9 started taking glitchy photos. What is wrong with it?

What is wrong with my Canon PowerShot G9? It started taking these messed up pictures. Here is an example: http://imgur.com/rbyAj When I shake the camera I can hear something loose in there. Is it fixable at all, or do I need a new camera? If it is fixable, can I do it myself?

Are you shooting in color accent mode? See page 144 of this manual.

Had the same (or similar) issue with mine. Was quoted close to $200 CDN to get it fixed through Canon.

Didn't end up getting it fixed and yet now it's taking pictures fine again.

It's normal for most cameras to rattle a bit when shaken (it's usually the orientation sensor). I agree with scose that it's probably in color accent mode.

Response by poster: No dice on color accent mode.

I'm pretty sure the camera never made any noise before. I guess I'll just keep shaking it and hope it starts working :\

Have you tried reseting it? I think its under menu-> tools -> reset all
should clear up any funky settings in software and let you know if its a hardware issue.

Response by poster: I just tried reset all, to no effect.
