If you can get your hands on a refrigerator box or large pieces of cardboard, you can make a huge takeaway box to wear. Heck, you could probably pull it off with sheets of poster board if you had to.

Why don't you wear a bird's nest suit? Or dress as a duck with a pair of binoculars (peeking duck). Or dress as a spring roll? Or the ugly dumpling?

Giant Fortune Cookie? All you'd need was a large foam disk of some kind...

The terrible pun version of this would just be to show up in street clothes but arrange for a few friends to kidnap you partway through the event.

Make a box out of a box or big pieces of cardboard (to me the things that make a Chinese take-out box look like a Chinese take-out box are the tapered bottom, the metal handle, and possibly the tab on the cover/sides). Then, get some foam tubing, or thick rope, or maybe cheap hose or tubing, and tangle it up around yourself in the top of the box to look like noodles.

You could give out weird fortune slips too.

Sadly, the "sexy ____ costume" industry has you (barely) covered.

"• Halloween Classics, • Female, • Adult, • Asian", ugh.

Why not go as a menu item often found in Chinese takeaway where you live?

Here in New York I'd probably think along the lines of an egg roll, potsticker, lo mein, general tso's chicken (OMG BEST COSTUME IDEA EVER, just sayin'), and the like. Not sure what "Chinese food" is like wherever you live.

You don't need a costume, just periodically rudely grab someone's drink and drink it, then yell "CHINESE TAKEAWAY!"

xojane's Elna Baker described in her book how she dressed up as a fortune cookie and a woman with young kids thought she was a vulva and yelled at her.

I hereby retract my shitty pun. This shitty pun is vastly superior.

Maybe go as orange chicken? Obviously, an easy costume to put together. I know it's not traditional Chinese food but a lot of people (at least in the US) associate it with Chinese takeout.
