bests resources to learn how to bring about change in an organization?

What are some of the best resources for learning about effective ways to bring about change within an organization?

I've been hired as a supply chain analyst for a chemical company. A big part of my job is to come up with ways to improve efficiencies, cost effectiveness, risk management, analytical analysis, etc. of the supply chain.

The problem is that while there is low hanging fruit available, the company is making good money right now so there isn't a sense of urgency to make changes and the people who make the decisions are naturally risk averse. So there doesn't seem to be an appetite to even take on the relatively easy challenges that are currently out there.

I know that change is hard and working through people to create change is probably even harder. But what are some resources that I could learn from that would give me a better shot of getting my ideas implemented, especially if I need to get buy in from other people?

Thanks in advance.

I cannot possibly say enough good things about Leadership on the Line by Ronald Heifetz and Marty Linsky. Also Good to Great by Jim Collins.

but Marty Linsky is my go-to guy. Check out his other books on Amazon as well.

Does your company have a Lean Six Sigma program in place? If not - Start one.

As a perk, you can probably get them to pay for you to get your blackbelt cert in it, with perhaps a side of PMP.

Also, if you can find someone with the proper certification, the Change Style Indicator is a good instrument to use.

I like Switch: How to Change when Change is Hard. In addition to the book, they have resources online at that website.
