who will design me a t-shirt?

I want to buy a shirt with a slogan on it, but no shirt with that slogan exists. Thus, I wish to cause its existence. Because my skills of an artist are meager, I don't want to do this myself on cafepress/spreadshirt/etc. Thus, I wish to ask YOU, metafilter, these questions: (a) where can I go or whom can I ask for my t-shirt-slogan-designing needs? (b) how much is this sort of thing likely to cost? (If too much, I'll just pass.)

Depends how long the slogan is and what kind of designing you're talking about. If it's just text, go down to Retro Fit on Valencia or use the T-Shirt Deli online.

I can't draw anything other than a pretty decent monkey head. I wanted a shirt with a slogan and some clipart and used customink.com. It was dead easy, and relatively cheap ($25 or so all in) for a one-off shirt. They have "artist-designed templates" too that make it a little fancier looking than just text-on-a-shirt.

Apologies if this solution is within your "cafepress/spreadshirt/etc." group. But maybe it's worth a shot; the whole point of the site is to make the design part of it user friendly.

I've had good experiences with Neighborhoodies, and they have a variety of fonts/placement options as well as some basic graphics.

If you want anything more complex or customized, I bet you could find someone willing to do it on MeFi Jobs.

It sounds like you've got a slogan in mind. If so, then hit up horrible logos.

Note that despite the claimed guarantee that the delivered logo will suck, many don't. My complaint about the lack of suckage of my logo went unanswered. So beware of that.
