Is there a freeware Windows download manager app where I can enter in a list of URLs of files to download, and it runs down that list, downloading files one by one?

wget is one option, of course. If you don't like that port, try the other one.

Second wget, but I like a nice GUI, so I prefer Wackget.

WackGet borders on telepathy in terms of what I had in mind. Much thanks.

the firefox plugin "downthemall" will do what you're asking for files on a web page, based on a filter you type in, such as "mp3" or "jpg" etc.

Free Download Manager is working nicely for me, tied in with the Firefox Flashgot extension. Its list-of-files support includes the ability to construct filenames in batches; it even allows you to use Javascript to build URLs.

Wackget is a brilliant GUI front for wget. I was going to suggest it above all others. I was obviously too late this time however. Anyway, happy downloading.

I've been using something called The Zonie Downloader for this purpose. It's got a few more features, though. It can download all the linked files from a URL, or certain file types linked from that URL. It can also "derive" a series of files based off a single URL, i.e. www.site.com/file001.bmp to file150.bmp.
