Question: Scented candles in the british isles

Where can I buy decent scented candles in Dublin or London?

So I'm a fan of scented candles, but I'm having trouble finding ones that are a) reasonably priced - as in not €30+ - and b) don't smell like soap. Ideally I'd like to be able to buy them somewhere in Dublin, but I'll be in London at the end of the month and could also go someplace there.

To give you an idea of what I like, I've been a fan of Muji candles, which are relatively affordable and smell nice. The only problem is that they seem to change their range every year, and I haven't been able to find the ones I liked from last year. Given the season, I'm on the lookout for any nice 'autumnal' scents - cinnamon, apple, that sort of thing.

Any advice on placed to look would be greatly appreciated!

I used to buy Yankee candles from Clinton Cards, not sure if they've gone into administration though...

Clintons is still around and still selling Yankee Candles. There's a branch on Cheapside, London.

In Dublin there's a Yankee Candles store on Grafton Street (at the corner with College Green), and another store (called Yankees) at Stephen's Green shopping centre . Yankee Candles come in all sorts of lovely seasonal ranges and have strong, long-lasting scents. They're reasonably priced and last for ages.

You can buy Yankee Candles from House of Fraser. They're a tad pricey, so I don't buy them too often, but they last a long time and smell gorgeous. I've recently discovered Butlers, who have shops in London - they have a big range of scented candles.

Oh, I forgot about the Yankee Candles place in Stephens Green! For some reason I was under the impression that the one on Grafton Street closed down, although that might just be me being spectacularly unobservant. I'll check them out tomorrow.

There's a candle shop in Covent Garden piazza. They do all sorts of scented stuff. Don't know the name, though.
