How can I get something shipped from L.A. to Wisconsin when the seller won't ship it, asks for cash, and I don't have any friends there?

I have been looking for a specific type of saddle for a while and finally found it in the classifieds.

I emailed the lady and asked her if she would ship it to me, but she said that she wouldn't. It had to be cash and carry.

It is a great price for the saddle and just what I wanted, but it seems I've exhausted all my options.

I don't have tons of money, but would be willing to pay for both the time and shipping - maybe an extra $100 or so. I can't afford too much, so this is frustrating with the price being so good.

Is this something that is done?

Where can I find someone to go to her house, pay cash that I've sent through paypal or my credit card, and then ship it to me with a handling fee?

I've exhausted my social network - everyone is either out of the country for a while or more than 9 hours away from L.A.

I've never used it, though I do have friends who do the tasking, but this is the sort of thing TaskRabbit seems like it's good for.

It is in Rancho Cucamonga. I think it is just a little East of L.A. but I don't know the area that well.

I second posting it on jobs. If this were in Chicago and not too far from me, I'd get it and ship it to you. I'm sure I'm not the only mefite who would.

Rancho Cucamonga is 60 miles east of me, but for someone out in the San Bernardino area, this should be easier.

Would she be willing to take it to a UPS Store? You could arrange for the store to pack it and ship it--and even you could even have the cashier's check or money order waiting for her there.

On a longshot... The UPS Stores or MailBoxes Etc stores ( Which I believe are owned by FedEx) may help. Also if you can get a weight and are willing to send her a pre-paid USPS shipping label, she could just give it to her letter carrier.

I get the feeling that this is an older lady who doesn't want to be bothered too much with the logistics. I could be wrong, but I don't want to push my luck or put her out.
