Name That Song

Identify this song please! I'm making a mixtape of songs with distinctive vocal flourishes and there's a snippet going through my head that I just can't place. This song's building to a crescendo and the singer yells "Whoo!" followed by three piano chords that sound almost like percussion (bum! bum! bum!) before continuing on.

It's a guitar band, most likely American, I think from the past 10 years. It has a kind of vaguely roots-rock/americana feel that wouldn't sound out of place on The King Is Dead by The Decemberists.

No, much more recent, more American-sounding, and the vocal is one (extended) syllable followed by three instrumental beats.

Not it, but catchy! (Also, that falls more on the "whoa" than "whoo" end of the spectrum.)

Could it be Wolfmother - Dimension? The details aren't quite right, but it popped to mind immediately when I read your description. (sorry if it's already been suggested, I can't open that youtube link on my phone)

Maybe a Ben Folds Five tune?

Might it be something by Okkervil River?

Any chance it's "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros? More of a whistle than a whoo though.

Oh god, this is so embarrassing. I've had my iPod on random all day trying to figure this out and I just got it. Turns out I was wrong on almost every detail (not American, not rock, not piano chords):

Robbie Williams - World's Most Handsome Man (at 3:28)

Thanks for your help, everyone!
