Where to buy cellphones?

Buying a new cell phone: I'm in the market for new cell phones and a shared plan, and I've noticed that most of the internet sellers are run by a company called Inphonic. Does anyone have experience ordering through an Inphonic-powered seller? Does anyone have alternative suggestions that worked well for them?

Best answer: I've made a couple purchases from Wirefly.

The first time they set me up with a phone number in Oklahoma (I live in PA).

The second time, I purchased a Motorola MPX220 which was free after mail-in rebates. They failed to mention anywhere on the website that the rebate form had to be postmarked between 180 and 210 days after activation.

Also, if you have any issues with it, you have to mail it back as opposed to walking into a retail location and having them switch it out on the spot.

Response by poster: Thanks for the report, phox. I also discovered that epinions has reviews for inphonic, and 28 of the 30 are extremely negative. I'll be looking for an alternative.
