How can I keep bidis fresh with little effort and cost?

Every now and then, I like to buy a pack of bidis. It takes me about a week to smoke them. They come in a paper wrap. They are usually fresh for the first day, but for the rest of the week, they taste pretty harsh. I tried keeping them in a sealed plastic bag, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I am guessing they just dry out.

Is there a simple and cheap hack to keep them good for the week?

Try a sealed plastic bag with a small piece of apple in with them. It'll give them the tiny bit of moisture they need to stay "fresh".

With ... other smoking materials that have a tendency to dry out, we always put them in a sealed bag with a small piece of apple, or an orange peel.

Go to a cigar store and ask for one of their half dollar-sized humidifiers. You soak it in water for a few minutes and pop it in the bag with your bidis. It works like a cigar humidor.

All the humidifier suggestions sound good.

If you decide to try the freezer, I neglected to mention that you do still need the sealed plastic bag. Just wrapped in paper in the freezer wouldn't help much.
