If that's a leaf, then maybe a jade plant? posted by Xere at 8:42 PM on September 4, 2012
Is it thick? Will it break if you bend it, or is it thin. It's pretty hard to tell the dimensions from that photo. Is that just a "leaf" from it, or the whole plant.
More information please.
If it is just one leaf and it is thick/breakable I would hazard a guess at some type of Jade plant. posted by edgeways at 8:42 PM on September 4, 2012
Third vote for Jade plant. posted by JujuB at 8:48 PM on September 4, 2012
it's... actually not flat, it's thickest in the middle. It's like the shape of a large beetle. Sorry about the pic. posted by parapluie at 8:55 PM on September 4, 2012
and... I'm actually not sure if it's a leaf or the whole plant, I found it on a walk. posted by parapluie at 8:56 PM on September 4, 2012
Sounds Jade to me then posted by edgeways at 9:00 PM on September 4, 2012
put it in a shot glass of water and it might grow roots -- Jade and other succulents are often easy to propagate this way posted by cubby at 9:02 PM on September 4, 2012 [1 favorite]
if the leaf is eensy and thin (like, 1/4-1/2"), it could be purslane, which is edible! posted by Rube R. Nekker at 9:04 PM on September 4, 2012
