Question: Nice looking net radio player for Mac.

I'm looking for a Mac app that can play internet radio and has a nice looking and easy-to-use interface.

I usually play internet radio in iTunes, but I'd like to find something with a little more usability. I want an app with a small interface (maybe the size of an iTunes minified window). I'd like to be able to search for stations in the app, but especially to be able to add streams and to favourite stations. RZRadio has a promising look, but the reviews are terrible. miniRadio has a nice icon, but I don't want a menu-bar only app. I'd like to keep the price under $5.

Radium is really elegant, but menu bar only. Works great, love it.

Do you have an iPad or iPhone? TuneIn Radio rules on that platform. Hang on....

Hey, look! They offer it in a browser! http://tunein.com

Trying out Radium now. It's a pretty solid interface. Very pricey at the moment though ($25) I don't think I can afford a license. They used to sell it between 5 and 10 dollars, which seems more reasonable.

For a lot of stations, it seems to fail silently. It never connects, but keeps trying and doesn't give info about what's happening.

Wenestvedt, thanks for the info about TuneIn. I'll listen on my iPhone, but want to avoid using the browser for this.

Though overpriced, Radium really is the best option. I don't think it's seen an update since last November despite a few obvious glitches (Growl notifications seem to be broken. Also, the app puts whatever app you're currently using in the background when clicked rather than floating above as other menubar apps do).

Also, the app puts whatever app you're currently using in the background when clicked rather than floating above as other menubar apps do

Doesn't seem to do that on mine (10.6.8), and I usually have single app mode on.

I'm pretty sure I didn't pay $25 for it, that is sort of surprising. Yes, I bought it on a Macupdate deal, where I buy entirely too much software.

AppShopper tells me that that price was raised a year ago. It used to be between $5 and $10.

I think I'll enjoy it for the trial month, then wait for a sale.
