What turned my cursor, mouse arrow & hand green? I didn't. At least not knowingly, and I don't like it. How do I get it back to the way it was.

Right click on desktop, hit properties, and see if your theme is still the standard Windows XP or whichever you normally use.

There is spyware known as Comet Cursor, which basically themes your mouse cursor (changes its appearance).

If you click Start > Settings (if it's there) > Control Panel, then double click on Mouse, click the "Pointers" tab, and there's a drop-down in the section titled "Scheme", choose Windows Default.

It may be worth going into Start > Settings (if it's there) > Control Panel, then click "Add or Remove Programs", look for Comet Cursor or anything similarly titled, and remove the application.

On top of that, I'd recommend doing an anti-spyware scan also, try downloading Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy or Microsoft Anti-Spyware - all of which will locate Comet Cursor installs - they are all available from Download.com.

Note to other posters: Download.com has a strict Anti-Spyware policy now so there is little risk using that site.

I had that happen on my old PC not long after I installed AVG anti-virus. When it ran the scan on boot something would go funny with the video settings for my monitor and I would get a almost neon green pointer. If I killed the scan on boot it went away, I ended up turning off the start up scan and it went away.
