Where can I find aguardiente in the states?

I'm back from Colombia, and I want a rematch. The Colombians drink an anise-flavored liqueur down there called aguardiente, either sipping it over ice (something I never tried) or downing shots of it like it's their job (something I did try—with amusing results, the rest of the wedding party reported to me the morning after.) I didn't bring any home, and I'd like to find a bottle of it here. It might be tricky to ship it to Virginia, so if I could find someplace actually in Virginia that carries it, that would be best.

It sounds a lot like pastis -- does it get cloudy over ice or when mixed w/ water? Pastis tastes like a black jellybean but the liqueur in the bottle is amber colored. (I've never heard of anybody doing shots of pastis but stranger things have happened.)

Have you looked in a big liquor store yet? In Atlanta it's not hard to find.

Technically, since it's distilled from sugar cane, aguardiente is a kind of rum. BevMo's got it, and they ship to West Virginia - maybe a friend can receive it for you? via Google

Aguardiente Cristal is what you are looking for. It's available from a number of on-line resellers, but it is also listed in the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Store Info & Pricing List. That means you can get it from the state-run package store, right? (Here is Miami they practically sell it on street corners.)
