MS unemployed housing

unemployed for a year. Recent diagnosis of MS. Currently living in Seattle. Should I move? Try to apply for disability? Two masters degrees, last ten years in teaching, planning to change careers to anything I can manage. All alone and I don't know what to do. Sorry. I don't mean to be negative. Would appreciate some ideas leads.

How is it possible that I am 49, well=educated, (with a cat that demonstrably loves me) and with all kinds of positive skills (personally and professionally). And yet, I have no fallbacks and my loved ones have passed away. So while I can't find a job, I have been making clay creations. I wish I could spend my time making more but I'm not deluded enough to think I could make my living from it. Sorry beloved hive mind. I don't know what to do. Search for the lowest rents available. Look for a really high bridge and a home for my wonderful cat, Ruby. First time posting - Embarrassed to send this but at least its anonymous.
