soft leather binding

Can you put books with soft leather bindings on the bookshelf like other books?

I have a book bound in soft leather. Would keeping it on the bookshelf upright like other books result in the bottom edges of the leather cover becoming curled or bent out of shape?

Best answer: Yes, and also in wear to the boards. Limp-leather-bound books should be shelved flat.
