Question: Where to get Traffic Ticket Records?

TrafficTicketFilter: I've been asked to prove that I have paid all my traffic tickets for the past 5 years and I have no clue how. Where should I call/go to get retroactive traffic ticket records? city court? state court? DMV? This is in Atlanta, Georgia.

To make things worse, I am out of the country right now on a business trip, so even calling is proving difficult, never mind actually going by all these places...

You could ask your bank for cancelled checks if you paid by check. Or, if you paid by money order purchased at your own bank you might be able to track the purchase. Is that feasible?

It sounds like you should probably call a lawyer in Atlanta. If nothing else they may be able to put off the request until you get back into the country.

Hmm, maybe but how can I prove that there no other tickets that I haven't paid for?

Good point. I was operating under the assumption that whoever was asking knew exactly what tickets you had and were asking for proof. If they don't actually know, and you are positive you've never missed paying one, if they do take the time and effort after you make the claim that you've paid them all to research it, you're covered. It seems kinda weird, no?

Agamenticus: Is this what you are referring to? that's the closest I have found online and I am not sure if it refers to a vehicle (as in accidents, etc), or a driver...

Earlier this year I paid Florida $5 for my complete traffic record and was somewhat amazed that it went back as far as I had a license. I found the ordering information on the Florida government webpage, look around the GA one or call the DMV. It's usually public record and you'll just have to pay a small fee.

costas: I had to get something similar a few years back for some accidents in Athens. My car was issued in my dad's name, but it was on my record with my license so I was able to get the records. So, yea, I'm thinking it refers to whose license the tickets are on.

You are not looking for a Motor Vehicle Report (Car) , you are looking for info on the licensee (Driver).
If you know that you know of NO UNPAID TICKETS, perhaps a simple affidavit will suffice, attesting to that fact, swearing under oath that you have no unpaid tickets to the best of your knowledge and belief.
