Has a human ever been shot by a monkey?

Chimpanzee, orangutan, ape, gorilla-- you know.

Fatal and non-fatal incidents apply.

Does this video count?

That video is viral marketing for a movie, so probably not.

For future reference, chimpanzees, orangutans, gorrillas, and really all creatures commonly called apes aren't monkeys. They're apes.

If you are a biologist, sure. If you aren't then you can probably get away with calling any primate a monkey. Incidentally, there are some primates, monkeys in fact, with the common name "ape".

Now, that said, there are plenty of instances of animals accidentally discharging a loaded weapon, striking a person. Ican imagine that this has happened at some point with a monkey (see roofus's link) as well. Then there's this.

Of course, on review, that's the same video that emilyw posted, so I'm a stupidhead.

Response by poster: item.

Thank you for clarifying;
that's what I meant by "...you know."

I suppose I could have been more succinct with "any non-human ape."
