Can't Disqus on a Kindle Fire?

Is it possible to comment using Disqus on a Kindle Fire? The keyboard screen doesn't activate when I tap the comment box. Amazon forums mention the problem, but no solution.

do you have java/javascript turned on? adobe flash installed? try those things maybe...you can see comments, just not leave them, correct?

Response by poster: Yes, just checked and Javascript and Flash are both updated and enabled. I can see comments and log in.

hmmm...ok, kinda stupid i know, but have you tried turning it off and on again? :/ (my phone does this with text messages sometimes where the keyboard comes up, apparently registers button presses, but nothing shows up in the text box. sleep/wake and it works again...)

Response by poster: Nope, restart doesn't do anything either.

It doesn't answer your question directly, but I'm a web developer and I've been having a lot of problems with the browser on the Fire recently.

The biggest problem we've had is with page elements that move or appear on the page, but there's all sorts of odd little bits of Javascript that don't seem to work on the thing.

Despite it being based on Android, the Fire doesn't have a standard Webkit browser - it's got "Silk" instead. As far as I can work out, Silk does some rendering on the Amazon servers and then gives your Fire what it thinks you need.

If there's an option anywhere to stop it using the Amazon renderers (which I haven't found yet) it might work if you turn them off.

Try turning off cloud accelerated rendering.

Response by poster: Unfortunately Disqus doesn't work even with accelerated rendering turned off.
