How can I safely sell a videogame console?

What do I need to do before selling a videogame console? In this case, specifically a Wii and probably to Best Buy.

So I've had a Wii for a while but it's time to let it go. I've used it to buy DLC and games with a credit card, probably tied it to my email etc. What do I need to do to be safe before trading it in or selling it? Is there a simple way to clear the content entirely? Can I keep game saves data or other content?

As for saving the game saves, see this article. You'll need an SD card, 1 GB or so should be more than enough.

Before going straight to Best Buy, call them first and other game stores to see who can give you the best deal.

If you're still playing console games, Gamestop has a 25% extra store credit promotion on traded-in consoles until 6/24/12.
