Lean Eating: worth it?

Tell me about your experience with the Precision Nutrition Lean Eating coaching program for women.

I've been a Paleo/ancestral/"real foods" adherent for three years, and have been a Crossfit coach (although I'm not any more). I've had kids. Although I know what to do to lose these nagging 10-20 lbs, I'm having trouble sticking with any plan for more than three or four days. So what I'd be looking for out of the PN program is accountability and strategies for long-term success. And the financial commitment might serve as a motivator too.

What I want to hear is your experience, good or bad, with the year-long, $99/month nutrition coaching system. Did it work? Did you do it the whole way through? Did you hate/love it?

I did lean eating for men. Wasn't very successful due to inability to commit. It's habit based, which is good, but be prepared for a significant time commitment for the meals. The workouts are also pretty tough.

Oh you do crossfit. Never mind about tough. You'd be well suited for the program.

Best answer: i started but didn't finish it a couple years ago. i couldn't do their workouts because of some health issues and even though my coach didn't mind, it ultimately didn't feel good to me to do the program halfway. it's also very slow to get off the ground (since they want you to master each habit one at a time), which can be discouraging. it sounds like their program will be a good fit for the way you already like to eat, and it does offer accountability. i think another part of why i didn't finish it was that it being on the internet made it feel fake (even though i use the internet all the time for all sorts of real things...). it was too easy to just ignore it. i didn't REALLY feel like i was part of a community or had a coach. at first all their demands were kind of fun (find somewhere to get my bodyfat measured! take photos!) but after a while i lost enthusiasm and didn't want to play the game anymore.

also, i find the contest thing a bit misleading and misguided. the program is supposed to help you lose weight in a slow, sustainable way, but if you want to win then you will probably need to cheat that system a little, i suspect.
