This just came up yesterday with many good recommendation on the recent Korean film craze. Start there. posted by drpynchon at 9:49 AM on June 14, 2012
3-Iron as mentioned in the thread drpynchon linked to is really great, one of the best dramas I've seen recently. posted by burnmp3s at 11:09 AM on June 14, 2012
Derp. Thanks, drpynchon. I searched a few days ago but not today. posted by demagogue at 11:12 AM on June 14, 2012
Now that I look at the yesterday's question -- I am looking for a more specific kind of movie/drama :-), i.e. similarity to the ones I mentioned. posted by demagogue at 11:14 AM on June 14, 2012
I really enjoyed (along the style of what you mentioned):
Queen In-hyun's Man (2012)
My Girlfriend is a Gumiho (2010)
The Classic (2003) posted by ichomp at 11:47 AM on June 14, 2012
Do you read any of the k-drama blogs? Dramabeans is one I read regularly. I find the drama recaps and movie reviews very useful for helping me decide whether I should watch something or not.
Recently there was a k-drama reminiscent of A Moment to Remember, including the female lead with Alzheimer's: Thousand Day Promise (2011).
I think you might also enjoy:
Best Love (2011)
Scent of a Woman (2011)
Secret Garden (2010)
You're Beautiful (2009)
What's Up might also be fun if you liked Dream High (Dream High 2 was ... sad). posted by needled at 11:56 AM on June 14, 2012
Thanks for the recs!
I'm watching Seducing Mr. Perfect right now... looks good so far. posted by demagogue at 1:35 PM on June 14, 2012
You're Beautiful is one of my all-time favorites. Also My Princess, and My Lovely Sam-Soon. posted by gnat at 2:39 PM on June 14, 2012
My favorite Korean dramas of all time (I'm more of a J-drama fan): My Name is/My Lovely Kim Sam Soon, Dal Ja's Spring, and 12 men in a year (based on a German novel).
Seconding Dramabeans as a blog and source. posted by Ms. Moonlight at 12:31 AM on June 15, 2012
