Question: Help me find a CD by the Norwegian band named "Yelp"

In a blue thread in December 2004, there was a link to video of a bunch of base jumpers from Norway. I've been trying to find a CD of the music that's played as the soundtrack to that video for the past 10 months with no luck.

Apparently, the band's name is "Yelp" and they're from Norway. The link to the video in the blue thread is dead, but I've found another one at the bottom of this page. That page also mentions the name of the band and their country of origin. I've tried to google with no success, and the online English to Norwegian translator that I tried said there wasn't a direct Norwegian translation for "yelp".

Are there any places on the internet that I could buy this CD? The few that I found didn't seem to have it.

Alternatively, are there any sites that ship internationally that have a really good selection of European music?
Just to prove they exist - but the song in question doesn't appear to be on that listing.

According to this page

http://www.pluto.no/filmfestival/off99/1st_base/index-e.html

They were signed by "Waterfall Production" but I couldn't find anything at the link provided, suggesting they are likely defunct.

This link confirms the band broke up. I'd guess the album, if indeed there was one, is not in print.

http://onheading.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=84

According to this response to a comment thread the band never released a CD due to splitting up after recording to the video but prior to releasing an album:

http://www.blincmagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?p=50004#post50004

This dude mentions giving the CD to someone, you might try emailing him about where he got it.

http://www.sacklunch.com/benm/benm_030201.shtml

But basically, I'm sorry to say, as far as a CD goes I think you're SOL. You can still buy the video.

Great sleuthing nanojath! I appreciate your help. Based on the links that you provided I found that the singers name is Shaun Bartlett and he's got a web page with a guestbook.

In the guestbook, Shaun mentions a few months back that even he doesn't have any idea where to get the music.

But, later, on page 2 of the guestbook, there's a guy who says that he has the music and is attempting to get it to the singer.

I'm going to try e-mailing the guy who says he actually still has the music (as that was within the last month). If I don't have luck there, I'll try the guy at sacklunch.com that you mention above.

Thanks again for the help! I'll post here if it leads to anything.

I just got a e-mail reply from the guy with an mp3 of the song from the video! The song is called "Voluntary Sacrifice".

If anyone does ever find a place where I can get an actual CD of this, I be more than happy to purchase a copy.

I'm also hoping to get some more of the music of Yelp, as well as some other related music done by the same singer.

Thanks again for your help Nanojath.
