Saccharine sweet love songs?

Saccharine sweet love songs. Let me hear your favorites.

I recently rediscovered a number of songs which has put me in the mood for more music about love that are very similar in quality.

On the melodic, upbeat, and downright peppy end: TBLLT's "I'm Glad I Hitched My Apple Wagon To Your Star". On the acoustic/lyrical end: Landon Pigg's "Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop"

Listening to songs that make you cry is sooo last month. What do you guys have that fall into either of these two categories (and are as sweet as can be)? Let's hear 'em.

"She's an Angel" by They Might Be Giants is probably a love song and definitely the sweetest song ever.

At the risk of being super self-promotional, this: Is It All Right, performed by YouTube video-game medley guy Freddegredde for my book Gift. It's a super-sweet sappy love song!

Let's Ride Into the Sunset Together by the Lost Weekend Western Swing band. I have no idea WHY it gets me, but it does (given that my major association with it should, by all rights, be Fallout: New Vegas...)

Emmylou- First Aid Kit
I Will Follow You Into the Dark- Death Cab
Real Love- The Beatles
La La Love You- Pixies

I listed these songs in the other thread, but they're pretty saccharine love songs as well as being tear-inducing:
First Day of My Life- Bright Eyes
In My Life- The Beatles (or Johnny Cash)

Oh my...there are so many.

My #1 all time recommendation is 'Fell in Love' by Moxy Fruvous as recorded by the Brown Derbies a cappella group.
Couldn't find that version on Youtube, but it is very findable on music apps and what have you - and WELL worth the effort. It's so sweet I totally wouldn't admit to liking it in public. ;-)

Slave to Love by Brian Ferry.

The storm is breaking, or so it seems.
We're to young to reason, to grown up to dream.

A little bit of everything:

When in Rome - "The Promise"

Sebadoh - "Truly Great Thing"

Stevie Wonder - "I Believe (When I Fall in Love it Will Be Forever)"

Journey - "Faithfully"

The Rascals - "Good Lovin'"

The Kinks - "Everybody's Gonna Be Happy"

The Monkees - "I'm a Believer"

Orleans - "Still the One"

Herman's Hermits - "I'm Into Something Good"

If you want true saccharine, you could try pretty much anything anything Bryan Adams has ever breathed upon.

Oh, and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," which has been covered by pretty much everyone. Link is to the Johnny Cash version, which I like the best.

A whole handful of songs by the All Girl Summer Fun Band fit the bill, but I'll start with a simple one: Cutie Pie.

You keep me warm at night, cutie pie
You make the night seem bright, cutie pie
You make the rain seem ok, cutie pie
You’re the best thing of my day, cutie pie

Okay, and I'm a sucker for It's There. Although it has a slight unrequited love tinge, still:

oh dear, we'll be together forever
because I tied our shoelaces together

But my personal favorite? Later Operator.

My boyfriend gets real shy
He's such a quiet guy
Sometimes he won't say a word, not even "hi"
But he's a damn good...

...laaa-ter operator
If lovin' him's a crime
(later operator)
I'm guilty all the time
(later operator)
He may be weird but he is mine

Knock your teeth out.

Belle & Sebastian - Paper Boat

Kinnie Starr - Alright is not acoustic but has that kind of mood.

On the poppy end, Robyn - Stars 4-ever (The 4 disturbs me but the song is cute!)

Yo La Tengo - Our Way to Fall , hands down the best, sweetest "oh god i am really falling for you" song

Barry White - You Are The First, My Last, My Everything

Dr Hook - A Little Bit More

Ace of Base - Always Have Always Will

Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (embarrassing to mention!)

Slightly different feel, or more abstractly about love:

Eurythmics - There Must be an Angel

Indigo Girls - What Are you Like? - for me this is a song that gets me all weepy about the closest (platonic) bromance I have.

Deacon Blue - Queen of the New Year

I don't know if you're beautiful because I love you too much."

The Magnetic Fields - Asleep and Dreaming
(Sorry, couldn't find a link that works in my country.)

Also, Your Arms Around Me by Jens Lekman is so sickly sweet it almost makes me want to vomit.
