Gay-friendly doctor in NYC?

Can you recommend a gay or gay-friendly primary care physician in NYC?

I recently discovered that my doctor and I share very different views on my homosexuality, and I'm no longer comfortable going to him. I'm looking for a new primary care physician (for general checkups and things like occasional sinus infections, no major specific problems).

If you happen to know that the doctor you're recommending accepts the Aetna Choice POS II plan, that's dandy, but I'm also fine with calling to ask about insurance.

Gay-friendly: Dr. Brian Meehan in SoHo. Nicest, least judgmental primary care doctor I have ever seen. I am reasonably certain that he takes that plan.

Callen Lorde Community Health Center, at 18th btw. 8th and 9th, has a bunch of great services and may also be able to recommend doctors working in private practice. 212.271.7200.

I was just coming here to recommend Dr. Meehan. I've been seeing him for over 4 years, and he's caring, cautious and has a great network of specialists to refer you to if you need additional help.

He ALWAYS takes time when you have questions, and never makes you feel like you are rushing him. I genuinely feel like he cares about my health.

I will tell you that I recommend you get an earlier appointment, as he tends to run late as the day goes on. Just my anecdotal experience.
