Is there a native way to communicate get googletalk to talk with IOS devices?

I know there is more than a handful of thirdparty apps that support the jabber/gtalk protocol and works fairly well (beejive/im+) but I'm wondering if there is a way to get them talking using the native messenger app thats available on the IOS devices.

Best answer: No, the native messages app is solely SMS and iMessage. I guess this could be done somehow with a jailbreak, but at that point you might as well use an app

Best answer: There is no way to get Jabber messages through iMessage, but there are several very good alternatives.
I use BeejiveIM, which is a multi-network app that works extremely well. It's similar in layout to the native Messages app but it's able to communicate with a variety of networks including GTalk.
If you don't want to pay the premium price for the full, multi-network app, they also have a free GTalk only version which is ad supported, and you can turn off the adds for only $1.99. I think either option would be great for you.

Oh I'm sorry I somehow missed that you mentioned BeeJive in your question. Er, well… I vote you try that. :-)

Response by poster: Thanks guys. I suspected so, but was hoping for some secrety hacky way to get them to play nice. Too bad there isnt some type of third party gateway that could bridge the two chat technologies.
