Infant daycare recommendations around Boston?
I have been home with baby mooselini since her birth in December. Now it is time to start work again (at a new place) and I am looking at daycares around Boston, Somerville, Cambridge area where I can get to without a car, those that do not have year long waiting list, and those that do not cost 2,500/month (thank you, Bright Horizons for that). Unfortunately that narrows down the pool of possibilities quite a bit, and I have a bit over a month to find it. First time parent paranoia aside, I am want the best for my kid and those cheaper daycares I've looked at have pretty unclean/unsafe conditions for my special-snowflake baby.
Any recommendations are welcome.
PS. After long consideration we've decided against au pairs/nannies.

We used TSC Child Care Center on Kendall Sq and were quite happy with them. I remember them being cheaper than Bright Horizons though not a whole lot for a full-time slot.

Yeah, Boston infant care is crazy expensive and a lot of the decent places have waiting lists, I work in Cambridge, but have my kid in daycare in Woburn because the price drops a bunch by being that far out of the city. Your only choices really are to find an in home daycare, pay a large cost, or go out of the city a bit. If you end up in Woburn, I can recommend a couple around here.

I'd also suggest using your neighborhood listserv, asking people with kids in your neighborhood. You're bound to hear about these In-home options from those sources. IME, most in-homes don't have a web presence.
And FWIW, we found the nanny route easier in a large city.
