Good naturopath or acupuncturist in the Boston area that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield?

I live in the Brighton/Newton area and have been looking around for a good naturopath or acupuncturist in the Boston area that accepts Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield but haven't found one. Any recommendations?

Is there a specific problem you are trying to address or are you looking for something like a primary care physician?

If Wellesley is not too far, let me recommend making the Marino Center your primary care center.

The easiest way to answer this question is probably to call up your insurer and ask.

Also, it's likely you'll have trouble finding covered practitioners because insurance companies are reluctant to cover hokum. Naturopathy, acupuncture and other 'alternative' medicines are alternative *because* they're junk. Any effect gained from them is almost certainly a placebo.

I will admit that I'd rather get a placebo effect than have a doctor tell me there's nothing modern medicine can do. But have you seen a real and *qualified* medical doctor for the problems you want treated by a naturopath and/or acupuncturist? because your insurance will cover that!

The reason I recommend the Marino Center (and also Visions Medical Center) is that they're places where MD/DO doctors and other providers (including naturopaths, acupuncturists, traditional Chinese medicine herbal practitioners, etc.) work in conjunction, and the administrative staff there are very savvy about what can and cannot be billed to health insurance.

sheryl at union square (somerville) acupuncture is amazing.
however, i had BCBS in MA last year, and they don't "cover" any naturopath or acupuncture services. you just get a discounted rate at the provider.
me mail me if you want info on sheryl.
