Question: Podcast advice needed.

Looking for a good (read non-american-centric) news Podcast that covers world events.

My wife and I spend a good deal of time commuting to work in the morning and are sick of the "Were so Craaazzyy!!! " morning shows on the radio. We love listening to CBC radio news, but it is not on when we are driving. It appears that CBC and BBC do not have news podcasts yet. CNN only has an update type which is about 1 or 2 minutes long. Is there anything out there that gives a daily world news account of about a half hour or so? Please save us from the "Were soooooo Bananas!!" morning radio drivel.

The BBC has a podcast but it's not free. You can try it here.

Late Night Live on Australia's Radio National is a good late night current affairs show with some in-depth coverage of world events.

You probably saw it already but we discussed podcasts here.

Not sure why McSly says the BBC podcast is not free, it is for the moment - From our own Correspondent is definitely worth your time, a full guide is here.

Check out Newsweek on Air - quality can be poor and it is rather US Centric, but not impossibly so - I've become quite attached, again, worth a try.

If you're using iTunes you could have a look at the 'rebotcast re-reading of the BBC news' - might be what you're looking for.

Second the plug for anything from ABC Radio National, although as Bill Bryson famously points out, it is not possible for us to understand Australian Politics however hard we try. Sample The Night Air, it certainly won't be like anything on your Morning Zoo station.

Oh, and just in case no-one has pointed it out, WGBH Morning Stories are outstanding, in a very twelve-step sort of way.
