How tpo locatea singer's representative or agent

I am trying to help a good cause that books talent once a year for a fund raiser. They would like to try book John Mayer, the singer, if possible, but need an agent to get in touch with; how do I find the person or agency represent this performer?
Googling "John Mayer Agent" found me this for the first hit.
And here's the link to who the agency makes available for "client/corporate event booking" (John Mayer is indeed on the list), and there is a link there "for further booking information."

Your best bet for that kind of thing is actually to call the agency and see who they have available. Most of them rep lots of similar artists, and getting a AAA talent like him on your first time out is going to be hard, and it's not just about money. You need to develop a reputation first, so they know you can follow a rider, take care of the artists, pay your fees on time, and so on.

John Mayer just announced that he's going on hiatus from live shows due to his throat condition. Mayer said:
I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.posted by John Cohen at 9:40 AM on March 26, 2012 [4 favorites]
Yeah, John Mayer's throat condition makes him really not an option, unless you're OK with just getting him to play guitar.

You'll probably get a runaround (or the above response about his JM's throat), but his publicists are Sunshine, Sachs, and Associates. It might take a little finesse to get past the front desk and to a publicist, but it's not impossible.
